The Indian MSME sector is quite diverse, not only in terms of the size of the enterprises, but also in terms of the variety of products and the levels of technology. This sector is an integral part of the Indian economy, with its vast network of around 36 million units which employ about 80 million people, and manufacture more than 6000 products.
This report highlights the key constraints faced by the MSME sector and offers some suggestions for facilitating the development of small businesses in India.
